COURSE OVERVIEW:

In AYS 2, you will learn the technical aspects of the bio-pscyho-spiritual connections in Ayurveda. Our primary focus will be on the architecture of the mind, its energies (gunas), and the body-mind’s vital essences (prana, tejas, ojas). We’ll dig deep into asana, pranayama, and meditation from the sub-dosha perspective of Ayurveda. Once you have paid Moondog Yoga for Session II we will provide you with a code that will allow you to access the course on Yoga International.

Upon completion of AYS 2, the student will understand the following concepts:

  • The architecture of the mind and its energies or gunas (sattva, rajas, tamas)

  • The subtle essences of the doshas (ojas, tejas, and prana) and their manifestation in the body

  • Creating practices to help maintain balance during seasonal changes

  • The key practices to address vata, pitta, and kapha imbalance

  • Sub-doshas (knowledge is a pre-requisite for AHC Grad School)

HOMEWORK:

  • Complete open-ended questionnaire as your take-home test

  • Additional assignments to work on home yoga practices to balance the doshas (individual dinacharya)

  • Honing daily routine, creating specificity to the usefulness of practices for you as an individual.

  • Using online support (YogaInternational.com) to practice dosha balancing.
