what do i need to know about taking a class at moondog yoga studio?

take advantage of this time and step away from the age of technology. please be sure to turn off all cell phones and other electronic devices before class begins.

i’m new to yoga. which class is right for me?

if you are new to yoga, back to basics, gentle or slow flow yoga would be all be good places to start. you are welcome to attend an all levels yoga class, but please be kind to yourself and be mindful that there is a 4-5 class learning curve. we do NOT recommend hot yoga if you have never practiced before.

aerial yoga is all levels and open to everyone. for your comfort and to preserve our aerial silks we ask that you wear a shirt with cap sleeves and minimal jewelry.

fitness classes are designed to be all levels, although some may be a little more challenging than others. each instructor will help progress or regress exercises to meet the needs of the members.

if you have any injuries or concerns about your health, it is best to check with your health care provider before beginning any exercise regime. please notify the instructor before class if you have had any injuries, surgeries, or other issues which may affect your practice.

can I bring my child to class?

at moondog, we are committed to providing a safe and enriching yoga experience for our students of all ages. to ensure the safety and well-being of our participants, we have established the following age policy: participants must be at least 13 years old to attend regular yoga classes (15 for aerial classes). any participant aged 13 to 15 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during class. we offer specialized yoga classes designed specifically for children aged 12 and under. these classes are tailored to suit the needs and interests of younger participants and provide a fun and educational experience.

what should I wear to a yoga class?

please wear clothes that allow free movement. yoga is typically practiced barefoot, so please remove your shoes upon entering the studio. cubbies are available for personal belongings. please avoid wearing heavy perfumes in the studio.

NOTE during the winter months, please do not wear the shoes you will be using for classes to the studio.the salt, water, and sludge not only damages the floor, but also make the floor dangerously wet.

what should I bring to a yoga class?

moondog yoga encourages having your own mat, as it is a personal space. however, the studio does have mats and a variety of props available for student use during classes. we also suggest you bring a bottle of water to class. there is a water fountain available for use, too. if you are taking a hot yoga class, we recommend bringing a towel.

what do i need for aerial yoga?

what should I wear to a fitness class?

we ask that you wear comfortable clothing and sneakers that are secure (no open back or slides). cubbies are available for personal belongings.

what should I bring to a fitness class?

our studio offers all the equipment you need to have a successful workout. you may also want to bring a water bottle and a towel. there is a water fountain available for use, too.

should i eat before class?

please come to class well hydrated. we recommend you avoid eating for two hours prior to attending a class. a light snack of fruit or nuts would be fine.

how early should i arrive before class?

our instructors make every effort to start and end their classes on time. so that everyone may enjoy the full benefits of our classes, please make every effort to arrive on time to classesfirst time students should arrive approximately 10 minutes prior to the start of class to fill out necessary paperwork and get acquainted with the instructor. if you’re running late, don’t give up, COME! it would be best to walk in after the centering (first 5 minutes of class).

do i need to register for class?

registration is requested for all classes but required for row and aerial due to limited equipment. registration is required for all workshops and trainings. payment is required in full when registering for workshops.

what is your cancellation policy?

we only charge you a “late cancellation” fee (the drop in rate for monthly members, or one class off of your class pack) if you cancel less than three hours before a pre-registered class that has a waitlist. it just doesn’t make sense to charge a late fee for a pre-registered class that isn’t full.

refunds for studio workshops, trainings, and prepaid appointments will be issued with at least a 7 day notice minus a 15% administration fee. less than 7 days notice, studio credit will be given minus a 15% administration fee. no refunds or credits will be given for less then 48 hours notice.

class packs and drop ins are good for one year from date of purchase. there are no refunds for these services but they may be shared.

do I need to sign a release form?

all new students are required to sign a release form. all students must sign in. please see the the front desk to do so.

what are your hours?

our front desk is staffed:

monday through friday mornings 9:00am-11:00am and evenings 15 minutes prior to the first class until 15 minutes after the last class starts.

saturdays 7:30am-10:45am

sundays 9:00am-11:00am

how do I purchase a gift card?

gift cards can be purchased online or in the studio.

what happens in bad weather?

in the case of inclement weather, it is moondog's policy to follow our school district (quakertown community school district-qcsd). if the schools have a 2-hour delay or are closed, we will be closed for all in person morning classes; a decision about evening classes will be made by 3:30 pm and the schedule will be updated. we will do our best to offer a virtual option if the studio needs to close for in person classes. please check our live schedule before you leave the house. you can also check the website or facebook page for the most up to date information.

appointment FAQs - massage and acupuncture

what should I expect for my first appointment?

plan to show up at least 10 minutes before your appointment, to fill out a client intake form.

how often should I get a massage / acupuncture?

talk to your therapist about the benefits of a regularly scheduled massage or acupuncture.

what do I do during the appointment?

just relax and enjoy! you can talk or be silent, as you wish. if you don’t want to listen to music during your appointment, let your therapist know.

what if I have to cancel my appointment?

if you need to cancel an appointment, please do so 24 hours before your appointment. all therapeutic services canceled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged a fee of $25

do I have to be completely undressed?

you can undress to your level of comfort. you will be covered with a blanket, and only the part that the therapist is working on will be exposed.

will a massage hurt?

no, a massage should NOT hurt. if this is a concern for you, be sure to talk to the massage therapist.
