General FAQs

Take advantage of this time and step away from the age of technology. Please be sure to turn off all cell phones and other electronic devices before class begins.
If you are new to yoga, we recommend starting in our Intro to Yoga workshop or Beginner’s series. If those don’t work in your schedule or you can’t wait to get started, Gentle or Slow Flow Yoga would be a good place to start. You are welcome to attend an All Levels Yoga class, but please be kind to yourself and be mindful that there is a 4-5 class learning curve. Attending the Intro workshop or Beginner’s series is still important for anyone new to yoga even after you’ve taken a few classes. The workshop and series not only break down poses in an accessible way but also focus on the breath which is a vital piece of a yoga practice.
The fitness classes are designed to be all levels, although some may be a little more challenging than others. Each instructor will help progress or regress exercises to meet the needs of the members. We do offer shorter, less intense classes called Row Fit Plain and Simple, TRX Plain and Simple, and Core
If you have any injuries or concerns about your health, it is best to check with your health care provider before beginning any exercise regime. Please notify the instructor before class if you have had any injuries, surgeries, or other issues which may affect your practice.
Please wear clothes that allow free movement. Yoga is typically practiced barefoot, so please remove your shoes upon entering the studio. Cubbies are available for personal belongings. Please avoid wearing heavy perfumes in the studio.
NOTE During the winter months, please do not wear the shoes you will be using for classes to the studio. The salt, water, and sludge not only damage the floor, but also make the floor dangerously wet.

We also suggest you bring a bottle of water to class. There is a water fountain available for use, too. If you are taking a hot yoga class, we recommend bringing a towel.
We ask that you wear comfortable clothing and sneakers that are secure (no open back or slides).Cubbies are available for personal belongings.
Our studio offers all the equipment you need to have a successful workout. You may also want to bring a water bottle and a towel. There is a water fountain available for use, too.

Anyone under the age of 18 is required to have parental consent to participate in classes. For your safety, young children are not permitted in regular yoga and fitness classes. Please see the current schedule for our children’s programs.
Please come to class well hydrated. We recommend you avoid eating for two hours prior to attending a class. A light snack of fruit or nuts would be fine.
Our instructors make every effort to start and end their classes on time. So that everyone may enjoy the full benefits of our classes, please make every effort to arrive on time to classes. First time students should arrive approximately 10 minutes prior to the start of class to fill out necessary paperwork and get acquainted with the instructor. If you’re running late, don’t give up, COME! It would be best to walk in after the centering (first 5 minutes of class).
Drop ins are always welcome at our classes. Registration is requested for all workshops and some fitness classes. Classes that require registrations are noted on the schedule. Space is limited in these classes and the instructor may not be able to accommodate drop ins. Payment is required in full when registering for workshops.
